Women’s Success Program
Foundation for Recovery is offering the Women’s Success Program, a comprehensive array of peer recovery support services for
underserved pregnant women and women with children struggling with substance use disorders (SUDs) and engaged in the Criminal Justice System in Southern Nevada. The goal of the Women’s Success Program is to reduce recidivism, support recovery and successful integration back into the community for program participants.
This program will provide a comprehensive array of peer recovery support services, including:
- Individualized peer recovery coaching: Recovery Coaches will help participants to work on Recovery Plans which will be self-directed and developed based on individual needs to focus on living and financial independence; seeking housing; security for self and family; building relationships and social support; and to establish family dynamics and setting goals for successful parenting. Individualized recovery plans will include a relapse prevention plan and help participants to build a supportive network for participants and their family to encourage and reinforce program participants recovery and plans for reunification when desired and applicable. Coaches will support and provide resources to assist women in scheduling continuing care services for program participants and her children in order to encourage maximum attendance while enrolled in the Women’s Success Program. and coordinated support linkages with other agencies to assist with housing, employment, and legal issues for the goal of sustained recovery and reducing recidivism.
- Bi-monthly sober social and recreational activities: These activities will be hosted at FFR’s Peer Recovery Community Center in Las Vegas and will encourage a sober, healthy lifestyle and aim to increase participants sense of competency and mastery of skills. Participants will also be encouraged to participate in hosting activities for their peers where family members may participate. FFR’s Recovery Community Center in Las Vegas has ties to a variety of community resources and organizations to assist program participants to rebuild their lives and self-esteem.
- Telephone Recovery Support: Telephone Recovery Support (TRS) offers free, weekly telephone calls to people in recovery to “check in” and see they’re doing. Calls are made by trained coaches who are in recovery themselves. Participants who sign up for this service will be given support and encouragement as well as information about community resources that can help individuals maintain their recovery and rebuild their life. TRS helps reduce relapse and enhances the recovery experience for recoverees as well as the volunteer making the calls.
This program is specifically available for pregnant women and women with children struggling with substance use disorders (SUDs) and engaged in the Criminal Justice System in Southern Nevada. Participants do not have to have current custody of their children and their children do not have to be a certain age. The services offered through FFR’s Women’s Success Program will be provided by female Peer Recovery Specialists who are properly trained through a 48-hour curriculum and are all women with two or more years in long-term recovery without a relapse or they are living successfully with or without symptoms of a mental health diagnosis.
